Hi! I’m Henry, and numerous doctors told me I have to lose 30 pounds. Here’s the thing – I’m not obese. At 5’9″ and 210 pounds, I look much more like a power lifter than a couch potato. Which only makes sense, because:
- I’m in good shape already because I do boot camp 5 to 6 days per week
- I don’t smoke
- I hardly drink
So, that’s plenty of exercise, no cigarettes, and barely any booze to speak of. Basically, most of my habits are good.
Which, sadly, leaves me with only one thing that I can change to lose weight: My diet.
Yikes. Hardly enticing for me, since I love, love, LOVE food, and I live in Montreal, a city known for food. I needed help. So, I got myself a meal plan designed by pros, and just by looking at it, I knew it was going to be tough.
Well, here’s my attempt at auto-therapy – I’m going to blog about this process until I hit that goal. I’m hoping that, by writing this whole thing out, I really stick to this diet. And who knows? If you’re in a similar situation, you can commiserate with me. A burden shared is a burden halved, right?
When it comes down to it, this is the story of how to lose 30 pounds. The alternate story title? “Hungry, Hungry Henry”. Because, y’know. I’m ALWAYS hungry these days.
Enjoy my epic quest (note sarcasm) :).
